WHLN hits new heights

by Al Mackin

What Happened Last Night (WHLN for the acronym-lovers out there) is an online city guide for Manchester, for whom theEword provides editorial and marketing support. The website recently recorded its busiest day ever, with over 7,000 visitors hitting the site over a 24 hour period.

October looks set to be a busy month for the Salford Quays-based company - and with online revenues up 80% year on year, there are plans to expand the business across the UK in 2008.

We manage the search engine optimisation for WHLN, and via our online marketing strategy the site now receives over 200,000 visitors per month from SERPS.

New client added to theEword roster

by Al Mackin

Introducing the latest company to enlist our services: Tangkoko. Let's have a look at their logo.

Very nice. Whoever designed that is obviously highly talented. Ahem.

Tangkoko is a new furniture brand based in Cheshire, specialising in Indonesian and Indian furniture. They're also 'ethical', meaning they take an environmentally-friendly approach to their business.

They've got big plans, and understandably have chosen theEword to help realise them. We'll be building their website and looking after all their online marketing, including their search engine optimisation.

Tangkoko offers ethically-sourced products, and from what we've seen so far they're certainly stylish. The company takes its name from the region of Indonesia where one of its co-founders was born. It's a thriving forested area that's also home to the Tarsier (Awww), one of the world's smallest primates.

We're currently sanding down and applying the varnish to the Tangkoko website which is due to launch in November 2007.
